Grilled Mahi Mahi Steaks

  • 6 8-10 oz. mahi mahi steaks 3/4″ thick
  • 1 cup Virgin olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. lemon zest
  • 1 whole lemon

Combine olive oil, garlic, salt and zest in flat pan. 

Marinate steaks for 30 min, turning several times.

Place each side on a medium hot grill for 5-8 min.

Before serving “sprinkle” with juice of lemon.

Steak Recipe 

  • 4 tbsp. colemans dry mustard
  • 4 tbsp. dijon style mustard
  • 3 tbsp. butter
  • 3 cups diagonally sliced green onions
  • 2 clovers garlic minced
  • 1 sweet red pepper or pimento, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon whole canola seed or mustard seed
  • 2 teaspoons seasoned salt
  • 2 serrano chiles, minced (optional)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 425.

Trim fat and silver skin.

Place in a large wide pan, and sear and brown the meat, Combine the mustards and coat the steaks put aside.

Heat butter in a saute pan and add remaining ingredients and saute for 4 mins.  Apply the mustard covered steaks. Roast for about 25 mins then lower temp to 350, and cook another 30 mins to desired doneness.  Slice off steaks and serve with a nice nut brown ale and garlic toast and a veggie of your choice.
