Chinese Food-Heavenly Food
Food is certainly an integral part of our life. But as they say, only by taking breaths, one doesn’t mean that he is living life. Life should be somewhat spicy. Same as that way, just by taking some morsels of food down our throat does not mean that we are eating food. Eating food should be followed by enjoying the food. So, here comes the need of Chinese food which is very mouth watering. Indeed, Chinese food is very delicious and by eating it, one would definitely forget all his worries and feel ecstatic.
It is widely accepted all over the world as an integral part of their lifestyle too, irrespective of them being Indians, Americans, and French etc. Such is the specialty of Chinese food. It has become a heritage of the world. It food is very diverse in nature. The reason why there are different styles of food in China is because among the different regions of China, there are varying differences in culture. Cantonese, Fujiyan, Shandong, Szechuan, Zheijiang. Hunan, Jiangsu, Anhui are the eight main regional cuisines.
A typical Chinese cuisine consists of two main components. One is of a carbohydrate source and starch. Secondly, it will accompany dishes consisting of meat, vegetable, fish or any other items. Rice and noodle are their main food mostly. In analogy with culture, sometimes the food is a little different to that of Northern Europe and USA cuisines because there the difference is that animal protein or meat is known as the main dish. In China, it is certainly not like that. Also, in analogy to Mediterranean dishes where wheat driven dishes are considered to main, Chinese food is quite different. For example, pasta or cous cous or pizzas are often the main dishes, unlike in China. The critical part of Chinese cuisine is rice. In Northern China and in many other parts of China, wheat based products like noodles and buns which are steamed take over the limelight, unlike southern China where rice is predominant.
Sometimes, at very much formal meetings or occasions, no rice will be provided in spite of its major importance. In such cases, rice would be offered only when no other dishes are left, or as a token dish in the form of fried rice which is very famous after the meal is finished. Soup also remains an integral part of Chinese Cuisine. Mostly, at the start of the meal and at the end of the meal, soup is served. While enjoying soups and other liquids, chopsticks play as utensils in Chinese cuisine for sold foods. They come with wide flat bottomed spoons which are traditionally made of ceramic. Due to recent logging shortfall in East Asia and China, wooden chopsticks are losing out of their dominance. In China, forks and spoons are always used while having food as they are a part of the culture. Also, if some guest cuts their own food, it is termed as discourteous.
Unlike the west, being a vegetarian is not uncommon in China. It is only practiced by only a small proportion of the whole population. Mostly, these vegetaranians are Buddhists. They do not eat tofu, unlike the impression of the stereotypical Chinese in the west. So, indeed, Chinese cuisine suits to every one irrespective of him being from which ever corner of the world.
